We always listen to news about good and balanced nutrition, but do we actually know what it means?
It’s easier than we can imagine…
For a healthy and balanced diet, it is about both quality and quantity. We have to guarantee our bodies an adequate contribution of energy and nutrients in order to prevent nutritional excesses or deficits.
It’s really important to include omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in our diet. These decrease the triglyceride levels in the blood, helping the antithrombotic action in our body.
The monounsaturated fatty acids as the Oleic Acid help as well.
These good acids are present in our OLIVE OIL, reducing the LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) without affecting the HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol).
We have to pay particular attention to the amount of carbohydrates we consume.
We must remember that wholefoods are healthier than other kinds because they don’t increase glycemia.
For this reason, the Mediterranean diet consists of unsaturated fatty foods such as white meat and fish, rather than red meat.
Obviously it’s very important to consume vegetables and fruit, despite the fact that they contains higher amounts of calories. But these calories are in good fats and vitamins.
It is the most important to feel good by reducing the potential risk of health problem such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and high blood pressure.
